What does the Young Rent Bonus consist of and who can benefit from it?

If you are thinking of applying for the Young Rent Bonus, you should know that this is a new grant from the Government of Spain. Its objective is to help young people with the payment of rent for their homes, favoring their emancipation.

This aid, with a maximum amount of 250 euros per month, will allow young people to pay the rent of their homes for a period of two years.

To prevent this money from being used to pay exorbitantly priced rents, the Government has set a maximum amount of rent that can be subsidized, between €600 and €900. Likewise, the price of the aid may not be higher than the price of renting the home.

The amount received must be obligatorily used to pay the rent of the beneficiary's habitual or permanent residence.

This aid will be granted on an individual basis, both to people who live alone and to those who share a flat.

Who is eligible for rental assistance?

Spanish people between the ages of 18 and 35, with a work contract for which they receive a maximum annual income of €24, will be able to benefit from this aid. People with the nationality of an EU country or Switzerland or originating from third countries with legal residence in Spain may also apply for this aid.

This benefit is not compatible with other rental aid such as those granted by the autonomous communities, town councils or other public entities.

Where to request the young rent bonus?

This aid may be requested from February 18 through the offices of the housing department of all the autonomous communities.
